I flew to Utah to spend a few days with my Mom on July 22 and then Bryan flew out to join us on the 28th - to be there for his Dad's 95th birthday. While I was there, my Mom, sister and I went to Park City for a couple of days to use Mom's timeshare. We had a great time. I will add pictures of this when we find our camera that went missing a week ago. But in the meantime, I'll use pictures I found on the internet. We stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel.
This is similar to what the main room looked like and then we had another room with 2 queen beds and a bathroom. Mom, this is the room design you were thinking of - I see the bar stools you were talking about!
We swam in the beautiful and nicely heated pool.
We rode the gondola up the mountain. Once we got to the end of the gondola ride, there was another ski lift that would take us higher onto the mountain, so we decided to go. What we didn't notice is the sign that said it didn't come back down - we had to hike. We didn't realize this until we got off at the top and the lift operator told us there wasn't a way down. Seriously? My Mom is 81 years old and we had to hike down the mountain? And, I was wearing flip-flops, not really good for hiking! Fortunately, the hike was only about 20 minutes, although, we took it really slow and it took about an hour. Mom did amazing - I was really proud of her for being such a trooper. This picture is of the gondola in front of us going up the mountain.

We also did some shopping at the Park City Outlets, played Phase 10 and Yhatzee and enjoyed our first ever girls mini vacation. We had so much fun and we plan to do it again.
Here we are in the gondola.

On our way home from Park City, we went through Salt Lake and picked Bryan up at the airport. We had a reunion with his Hansen cousins at Bryan's sister Marie's house, where his cousin's singing group performed for us. Here are some pictures from that reunion.

Saturday morning we went to the Provo Temple with my family (Doug, Kay, Dennis, Kathy, Mom, Bryan and I) and did some family sealings. Kathy has done so much work gathering names for us and we were happy to be able to do this. We went to brunch at Mimi's Restaurant afterwards - Mom treated!
Saturday night, July 30, we celebrated Bryan's Dad's 95th Birthday by going to the cabin - just with Bryan's siblings and their spouses. For the past few years, we have gone to Laurel and Mark's house each summer for a huge Watkins reunion, but it's sometimes overwhelming for Dad, so they decided to have a smaller group this year. Here are some pictures from the cabin celebration.
L to R: Bryan and Karen, Bruce and Marie, Lynn and Dad, Jim and Denise, Ron and Susan, Mark and LaurelHere is Ron amazing us with his hula hoop moves!
And Susan could hula hoop with her neck! Such talent in that family.
We all had a little hoop action - even Bryan and I
Denise wrote a poem for her Dad for his birthday.
We missed Paul and Dena, Annette and Ron and Cherie. Other than that everyone was there.
The creek was high and fast this year.

On Sunday morning, we decided to go to the Tabernacle Choir Broadcast. We were happy that my Mom came along and we also met Lynn, Ron and Marie there.
Afterwards, we walked on top of the Conference Center and got this picture of the temple.

In the Visitor's Center on Temple Square, they had the most amazing replica of the Salt Lake Temple. It shows what each of the rooms is like and where they're located. It is angled exactly how the temple is outside the window, so you can look at the replica and look at the temple and see where all the rooms are. It was amazing and is a very popular thing for visitors to look at.
We went back to the cabin Sunday evening for some more visiting and cool, fresh air. We sure love it up there. Bryan and I flew home Monday morning. It was a very nice vacation.
