The cabin

It all started in March of 2006 when we bought our cabin in Pine, AZ and started immediately remodeling it. I remember the first time Bryan, Michael and I arrived at our cabin after we received the keys. It was cold, smelled of cigarette smoke and it definitely needed to be updated. We ate a quick dinner and then Michael and Bryan immediately started the demolition. Michael loved knocking down the walls and removing the old paneling.I am including the before and after pictures below. We pretty much replaced everything except the bathtub, the furnace and the wood burning stove. We spent almost the whole summer up at the cabin working on it - this was one of my all-time favorite summers and I loved every minute of the remodel project. Of course, I wasn't the one crawling through the very small attic and doing all the work - I got the fun job like painting, decorating and cleaning up after Bryan so he could continue with other projects. He did such a fabulous job on the remodel and I was so happy with the way it all turned out. Our dog, Spike, also loved being away from the hot valley - we kept him at the cabin all summer since we were there so much of the time.

Back patio with addition in progress. I guess I don't have a final picture, but it is painted the same as the rest of the house. Oh, there's Spike giving himself a little bath.

Didn't Bryan do a fabulous job with the remodel. This is one of the reasons it is so hard for me to have to sell the cabin. It is so cute and we (particularly Bryan) put so much time and love into it.
