80 Years Young

My mom turned 80 years old last weekend and Bryan & I, along with my brother and his wife from Southern California, surprised her by showing up at the restaurant that my other siblings were taking her to for dinner. We also had a birthday party for her with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren who could come. It was so much fun to surprise her - we had a great time and she liked it too - even though she was dreading turning 80! Doesn't my mom look great? You would never guess she is 80 years old. I'm so thankful for my Mom and for all that she has done for me. I love you, Mom!

Sam and Ethan

Happy Birthday to these 2 handsome little guys! These are our only grandsons and they were born on the same day - 3 years ago - 2 hours apart. Sam was born in AZ and Ethan was born in WA. This picture was taken a couple years ago, but I love it - I only wish they lived closer to each other - they would have so much fun together. Happy, Happy Birthday, Sam & Ethan!

We were so excited to welcome Sam into our family. We will be eternally thankful to his birth mother and her family for the sacrifices they made to allow this to happen. I had a small role (okay - I usually take the credit!) in making this adoption happen, but it was the love Sam's birth mother had for him that really made it happen. And, of course, some devine intervention.

We were doubly excited when Ethan was born 2 hours after Sam - what a great blessing to have 2 grandsons on the same day. Ethan's lungs weren't quite as developed as they should have been when he was born, so he had to stay in the hospital for 9 days - we were so worried about him. Holly went back and forth to the hospital to feed him and we were so excited when he was finally able to come home. We're so happy to have Ethan in our family!

It's about time!

Well, I finally did it! Many people have been after to me to start a blog and if for no other reason, I decided to do it for journaling purposes. Now I'm really excited to get started - okay, so I'm usually a few years behind the times, but I usually come around eventually.
