....we moved from California to Arizona. I can't believe it was that long ago, but it was Conference weekend in 2003. When we moved from California, it was quite an adjustment. We had so many friends there, the weather was perfect, I loved our house and neighborhood and we were close to the ocean (which I still miss a lot). But, Bryan had just been laid off, our house payment was $4000/month (which was fine when he had his job), Michael left for college and we didn't have any family there, and a lot of our close friends were moving or had moved away. It just felt like the right thing to do - and it was the right thing to do.
Life is definitely different in Arizona than our life was in California, but we've adjusted and we're happy to be here. We're thankful to live by 2 of our 4 kids and 6 of our 9 grandkids - we miss the others and wish we could live by them too. (Who would have thought Michael & Mallory would end up in the bay area?) We're thankful to be able to go to events that our grandkids participate in and to have Sunday dinners together and we're thankful we were able to invest in some rental homes with the sale of our house in California. Even though the weather is HOT, HOT, HOT in the summer, we love the beautiful winters, actually about 8 months of the year is beautiful. All in all, we know we made the right move and we count our blessings.
And we are SOOOO glad you moved here!! Couldn't imagine life without you here!!!!
